Dear Colleagues and Friends,
Creation is an inspiring endeavor. This is especially true when one creates objects of a size that only a few people can. Cathedrals or skyscrapers, bridges or aqueducts, highways or dams are not only fascinating due to their size but also because they greatly affect the lives of all people in their proximity and beyond – for decades or even centuries. Construction is a true act of creation.
The growing demands for a “better” built environment – even if the meaning of “better” is hard to define in this context – requires increasing levels of diverse knowledge. As time progresses, it is getting harder to live up to the ever growing expectations: trains begin to compete with the speed of airplanes, buildings are expected to produce rather than consume energy, and in the not-so-distant future we will build in outer space, most likely with advanced robotics and 3-D printers.
Creative Construction Conferences are organized annually to provide a forum for ambitious researchers and practitioners from around the world who have realized that the construction industry is rapidly changing and accept that building materials, construction technologies, and project management will creatively and quickly evolve in the future.
You are cordially invited to participate in our ninth edition of the Creative Construction Conference in June/July, 2020. This time Opatija – the beautiful town at the shoreline of the Adriatic sea – will be our host.
Accepted, peer-reviewed papers will be included in the ISBN numbered proceedings. Furthermore, a few selected, extended and fully refereed papers that fit the scope and mission of Automation in Construction, International Journal of Construction Management, or Organization, Technology and Management in Construction or Frontiers of Engineering Management (FEM) and Periodica Polytechnica Architectura will be published in a special section or issue of the given journal.
Over the past nine years, Creative Construction Conferences have earned their reputation for quality and for being the largest construction engineering and management conference held annually in Europe. With your help and participation we can grow this reputation even further.
